Cardona-Hine only occasionally paints still life pictures, and, usually he paints either flowers in vases or persimmons. Like his other art work, his still life art retains his unique style. Distortion and exaggeration express an essence and flamboyance rather than the exactness of realistic convention.

In the painting to the right, entitled, "Vase with Flowers", the two vases seem to sink into the table, and we are left wondering what that little nail like object is, and why the blue line. The artist leaves us with questions, which keeps our viewing alive and awake, making it possible to return to the painting again and again.
