Barbara McCauley's Art Landscapes & Seascapes Paintings

Original fine art landscapes and seascapes by Barbara McCauley.

All of McCauley's paintings are acrylics on canvas and are usually stretched on medium stretcher bars which are about 1.75" deep, allowing the collector the choice of framing it or leaving it as it is to "float" on the wall, this latter being the artist's preference. Well-known for her boldly colored and light-filled canvasses and giclee art prints, her artwork is in collections all over the United States, Canada, and in Europe and Australia.

Her landscapes in acrylic have evolved over time, the earlier landscape art depicting views of the New Mexico countryside, although sometimes also recalling the scenery of her native New England with old barns and houses, but in either case, always with a feeling of the weather, the place, the time of day and a sense of absence as presence. Her later Southwest landscapes and pictures of the sea have increased in the boldness of both color and brush work with a greater freedom of expression and composition.

All of her current seascapes are of the Pacific Ocean off Baja Peninsula, Mexico, where she and her painter husband, Cardona-Hine, have begun to spend some part of the winter months.
