Boddhisatvas are enlightened beings who choose to remain on this earth, coming back lifetime after lifetime, in order to help all sentient beings attain Buddhahood--enlightenment. Cardona-Hine has painted three bodhisattvas: of the present, past and future.

The power of this painting is palpable. In a space large enough to allow it to be felt as well as seen, it imbues the space with profound quietude, a benevolence emanates from it. Measuring 86 x 76, the surface shimmers with silvery tones of iridescent paint lightly brushed over the underlying deeper colors.
