This painting captures the feeling of the Mexican desert that surrounds the small town of Todos Santos, Mexico. Todos Santos is an oasis with spring waters that permit a relatively lush landscape with tall palms, mango trees and wonderful gardens. Outside of the town itself is a dryer, starker landscape filled with desert flora such as the agaves pictured here. The artist feels that this particular art work is reminiscent also of parts of Los Angeles where she lived for fourteen years. This art work measures 41" x 31" and was painted in the winter of 2007. |
